The European Circular Composites Alliance (ECCA) will meet on 25th June to highlight the alliance’s achievements over the first six months of the 2026, present the progress of its five working groups, and explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the next phase of action towards a more circular composites industry.
A sectorial alliance of EuCIA, ECCA was launched at JEC World 2025 in partnership with founding member JEC. It provides a collaborative platform for stakeholders across the composites value chain to advance the industry’s circular transition. The alliance now brings together more than 200 organisations from 27 countries. Its first year focused on building a strong membership base, establishing effective working structures, and setting a clear strategic direction. The second year is about translating that foundation into measurable action.
ECCA’s priorities
A key priority is end-of-life management, often seen as one of the most significant barriers to composites circularity. Viable recycling routes for composites are now being demonstrated. The next step is to scale up these solutions, accelerate their deployment, and create new value by transforming recycled materials into new products – a core focus of ECCA’s ongoing work.
Another important priority is securing investment in circular technologies to help bring this vision to life. The meeting agenda includes two presentations from guest speakers exploring this theme:
- From Horizon Europe to Industrial Competitiveness: FP10, the European Competitiveness Fund and New Opportunities for the Composites Industry, Professor Stefano Turri, Politecnico di Milano;
- How to match low TRL R&D Projects with Angel Investor, Luigi Amati, Meta Group.
General Assembly 2026
The Mid-Year Review meeting will also include a discussion of the proposed agenda for ECCA’s 2nd General Assembly, which takes place in Brussels on 3rd December.
