EuCIA joined our partners in EOLIAN, an EU-funded project developing a new generation of sustainable wind turbine blades, in Istanbul on 25th November.

EOLIAN AG - EuCIA

The EOLIAN General Assembly

This event was hosted by Zorlu Enerji.

Led by project coordinator Proplast, the day featured presentations on the project’s work to develop new vitrimer composite materials for manufacturing blades, as well as ways of integrating sensors to enable early detection of damage. The Work Packages focus on:

  • Development of advanced materials based on dynamic covalent bonds;
  • Multiscale modelling and characterisation of vitrimer chemistries;
  • SHM technologies and operation and maintenance methodologies;
  • Upscale of vitrimer development and manufacturing of wind turbine blade demo;
  • End of life assessment: recycling and reuse of reclaimed materials;
  • Sustainability analysis and risk assessment;
  • Dissemination and exploitation.

EuCIA leads the dissemination and exploitation activities. The nine other partners are Proplast (Italy), AEP Polymers (Italy), Brunel Composites Centre (UK), Entelea (UK), IRES (Belgium), Norvento Enerxía (Spain), Politecnico di Milano (Italy), Tekniker (Spain), and Zorlu Enerji (Türkiye).
