On June 6th-7th, EuCIA and Italian composites industry association Assocompositi participated in JEC Forum Italy, which gathered the Italian composites community together in the city of Bologna. This new event in the composites calendar is organised by JEC Group in partnership with EuCIA member Assocompositi.
JEC Forum Italy is designed to support the country’s dynamic composites community, fostering meetings between domestic buyers and suppliers, and initiating new international contacts. The event featured business meetings and conferences, as well as an Italian edition of the JEC Composites Startup Booster competition.
EuCIA was pleased to support the conference programme developed by Assocompositi which was designed to present applications, innovation and sustainability in the Automotive, Aerospace, and Construction markets.
Highlights included:
- Applications of Composites in the Built Environment conference: A keynote presentation by Professor Luigi Ascione discussing progress towards a new Eurocode for composite structures. This is a milestone for our industry which will establish composites as a credible construction material alongside steel, concrete and aluminium. EuCIA is a member of the working group developing this guidance. Learn more in our fact sheet.
- Sustainability and Circularity of Composite Materials conference: A keynote presentation by Jaap Van Der Woude, Chairman of EuCIA’s Sustainability Committee, providing an update on EuCIA’s initiatives to support the development and implementation of circular and sustainable end-of-life solutions for composites.
