French newspaper Les Echos has published an interview with EuCIA’s President, Professor Roberto Frassine.
The article, « Le marché européen des composites doit rester un écosystème complet », martèle le président de l’EuCIA (“The European composites market must remain a complete ecosystem,” insists the president of EuCIA), was published in print and online on 2nd February in a special section dedicated to the Sustainable Economy.
In the interview with Etienne Thierry-Aymé, Roberto discusses a range of topics related to composites, circularity and sovereignty:
- Why the diversity of the European composites industry is a strength, but also a coordination challenge.
- The objectives of the European Circular Composites Alliance (ECCA) in demonstrating to the European Commission that circularity is possible.
- Why circularity is a pillar of sovereignty.
- The importance of research, innovation and collaboration, and EuCIA’s role in identifying the best initiatives to help the Commission replicate them across the continent.
- How composites are the building blocks of today’s major transitions, found in many critical industrial sectors from wind energy to aerospace, electronics …
- The need to avoid deindustrialisation linked to energy costs and unfair competition and why circularity is a historic opportunity to transform waste into a source of raw materials, securing our supply chain and reducing dependence on external sources.
In short, he concludes, the European market must remain a complete ecosystem, from design to recycling.
