EuCIA will deliver a keynote presentation at the 3rd International Conference on Sustainable Wind Turbine Blades in Denmark.
Hosted by DTU Wind and Energy Systems, the event takes place at the DTU Risø Campus, Roskilde, on 17-19 November under the theme Synergies Across Sectors in Circularity – Shaping the Future of Circular Wind Turbine Blades.
The conference aims to bring together experts from academia and industry to explore practical and innovative solutions for circularity in wind energy, including:
- New blade materials: bio-composites, recyclable thermosets, thermoplastics, bio-based resins, and bio-based carbon fibres;
- Recycling: reuse, repurpose, pyrolysis, and solvolysis;
- Recycling value chain: estimating and mapping blade waste, circular economy approaches, and life cycle assessment of recycling processes;
- Future perspectives: design for recycling and recycling of recyclable blades.
Managing Director Raphaël Pleynet will represent EuCIA at the conference, which provides a perfect forum to discuss EuCIA’s perspective on composites circularity and highlight progress of the European Circular Composites Alliance (ECCA). It is also an opportunity to share technical achievements from the EU-funded projects REFRESH (blade recycling) and EOLIAN (recyclable blades), where EuCIA leads the communication activities.
