EuCIA is conducting a survey of recycling companies in Europe. The survey, Circularity of composites: recyclers point of view, aims to identify current barriers to recycling composite materials and parts. The findings will be used to coordinate actions to build the supply chain.

We have sent an invitation to complete the survey to organisations registered in our European Composites Recycling Solutions database. EuCIA’s members are also distributing the survey to their contacts.

We also invite recyclers interested in sharing their experience of composites recycling to contact us directly. Please email us at In addition, we’d like to hear from recyclers that are not currently recycling composites to learn about their concerns or questions.

The survey closes on 30th June 2024.

EuCIA will collect and analyse the survey responses and will lead the communication of the results. All results will be reported on an anonymous basis.

 Advancing the circularity of composites

Composites are circular materials because re-use is possible either in open loop or closed loop recycling. Recycling into cement is open loop recycling and available now.

Additional recycling solutions are emerging.

To increase the circularity of composites there is a need to improve systems for collection, sorting and transportation of waste, and develop markets for secondary material. Read more in our position paper.
