On 5th July, EuCIA’s Sustainability Working Group met at Cefic’s offices in Brussels. The group is made up of 18 European experts, representing EuCIA’s membership of national composites associations and sectorial organisations.
The many topics discussed during the meeting included:
- EuCIA’s initiatives to support the development of sustainable solutions for end-of-use composite materials;
- EU-level actions to promote the value of composites for the circular economy and reaching net zero CO2 emissions;
- An action plan and communications tools to guide the Working Group’s future work.
Earlier in the day, EuCIA united with WindEurope, CEMBUREAU, EBI, Cefic UP/VE, Cefic Epoxy Europe and Glass Fibre Europe to issue a position statement highlighting the important role cement co-processing can play in treating end-of-use composite materials.
