Following the first General Assembly of the European Circular Composites Alliance (ECCA) in Brussels, Ilkay Özkisaoglu recorded an interview with Julia Minici, Co‑Founder & Chairperson of Afterwind.

In the video, Julia explains Afterwind’s approach to recycling of glass fibre composites. The company recycles end-of-life wind turbine blades, and other glass fibre composite parts, from its facility in Sweden. She goes on to describe her impressions of the ECCA General Assembly and the alliance’s role as a catalyst for action.

“I think this room today was incredible and it just strengthened by drive and my focus. I want to do something. I want to play my part. … I think everyone has a role to play, and everyone has to take on their own responsibility, their own ownership to drive towards a common goal. And I think ECCA gave us the vision, the platform, the space to do that, and it’s on us to take it and drive this forward.”

Julia chairs two ECCA Working Groups – Industrial & Recreational, and Construction – and she offers an insight into their plans, as well as her own ambitions for 2026.

“For me, today was about making ECCA sustainable. And so I’m committed to ride along with the journey, commit my time to this and keep driving the Working Groups as needed for the next period.”
