Esthel Ossó, European Circular Composites Alliance (ECCA) Coordinator* at EuCIA, spoke with Ilkay Özkisaoglu of Composites Lounge during JEC World 2026.
During the interview at the ECCA pod in the Circularity Village, Esthel described her journey into the initiative and outlined the growing role ECCA is playing in bringing together stakeholders from across the composites value chain.
The discussion explored the progress made since ECCA’s launch in 2025, the alliance’s five Working Groups, industrial recycling technologies and market adoption, European policy and regulatory developments, the importance of collaboration across the composites value chain, and future priorities for ECCA.
It also highlighted the importance of the REFRESH project, a Horizon Europe initiative focused on creating a complete value chain for wind turbine blade recycling. EuCIA leads the project’s communication and dissemination work package.
*Esthel left EuCIA in June 2026 to pursue a new career path. We thank her for her collaboration and support during these last six months and wish her every success in the future. At the same time, we are delighted to welcome Wendy Perben to the role of ECCA Coordinator.
