REFRESH and EOLIAN are among 18 EU-funded projects launching the Wind Innovation Cluster Hub, a new platform connecting Horizon Europe initiatives that are driving wind energy innovation across Europe. As communications partner for both projects, EuCIA looks forward to exploring the collaborative opportunities created by this initiative.
Until now, the wind energy sector has lacked a shared structure connecting the work of Horizon Europe projects. The Wind Innovation Cluster Hub aims to fill that gap by connecting projects across Europe and creating a clearer framework for collaboration. The community is designed to support knowledge exchange across projects, helping advance wind energy innovation while contributing to the EU’s climate, energy security, and industrial competitiveness goals.
The Cluster Hub projects span a range of topics within the wind energy sector:
- circularity and high-performance materials;
- digital monitoring, O&M and wind farm control;
- offshore wind technologies and infrastructure, including floating wind;
- system integration, grid and market readiness.
REFRESH and EOLIAN are both members of the Hub’s Circularity, Sustainable & High-Performance Materials Working Group. REFRESH focuses on repurposing and recycling end-of-service wind turbine blades, while EOLIAN is pioneering a new generation of blades manufactured from novel vitrimer composites.
WindEnergy Hamburg 2026
The Wind Innovation Cluster Hub is exhibiting at WindEnergy Hamburg on 22-25 September. Partners from REFRESH and EOLIAN will participate in the Hub’s activities at the event.
