The REFRESH project has achieved its first milestone, passing its GO/NO GO review. This is a major step towards the project’s goal of demonstrating a smart, circular system for managing end-of-use wind turbine blades.
EuCIA leads this EU-funded project’s work package on dissemination, communication and exploitation.
This first milestone marks the successful transition from Phase 1 of the project, focused on design and development, to Phase 2, deployment of the REFRESH recycling technologies, design of demonstrator products, and development of the traceability platform.
To obtain a GO to proceed with Phase 2 a number of tasks had to be completed satisfactorily. EuCIA joined the REFRESH partners (ETAT9, MTB, GEES Recycling, Gjenkraft, CIRCE, Enecolab, CETMA, ACCIONA, TECNALIA, and RINA) for the review meeting in July. The review report and ‘GO’ decision were received in October.
Phase 2 of the project is already progressing fast. The REFRESH value chain is connected, and products are being developed using the recycled materials.
